The Mariners are rolling and get more good news today

The Seattle Mariners are currently on their second four game win streak and are looking to make it five as the Chicago Cubs come to town tomorrow. April 13 was when the last four game win streak started and it has been way too long between win streaks for the M’s. But the winning ways and amazing starting pitching, not to mention the bullpen finally waking up last night, is not the only good news in the Pacific Northwest. The Southpaw starting pitcher Eric Bedard and Rookie catcher Adam Moore are starting their rehab stints.
Bedard had season-ending surgery to repair an inflamed bursa and torn labrum in August of 2009. Even though Bedard has not had the best run in Seattle (11-7, 3.24 ERA in 30 starts), the injury bug has hit him since signing with the team. This is the year the M’s are looking for Bedard to show his true colors, as he will have five other great pitchers surrounding him once Fister comes off of the DL.
Adam Moore will report to Triple-A Tacoma after being on the disabled list since May 16 with a sublexed left fibula. If not for Moore’s work behind the plate, his rookie year would be a complete disaster thus far as he was hitting just .193 (11-for-57) before getting hurt.
Tuesday night is a big night for all of the Pacific Northwest as we watch anxiously to see if the four-game win streak is just a fluke. Lou Piniella will be starting Ryan Dempster (5-5, 3.67) for his Cubs who are 31-38 and sitting 7 games behind St. Louis. The Mariners will be sending Jason Vargas (5-2, 2.88) to the mound, as the M’s are 28-41 and 13 games behind Texas. The Chicago Cubs are looking to start a win streak as they routed the Angles 12-1 on Sunday. As stated before, the Seattle Mariners are looking to extend their win streak to five games as they swept the Reds in their last series.
